BOCA RATON, Fla. — The Coast Guard is currently looking for debris from a Learjet crash which may have drifted as far north as Boynton Beach.
Christian Matteis, CEO of Universal Jet says, “the feeling would probably be engine failure,” though officials are still investigating the exact cause of the crash.
Since engine failure is always a possibility in a crash like this and to prevent these types of crashes Matteis’s company jets go through maintenance after almost every flight.
He showed CBS 12 one plane’s engine being rebuilt, which is normal.
“It’s something that you really have to stay on top of because when you’re 40,000 feet up, you don’t want issues.”
